01
Ellipse cancer removal
The most common and straightforward surgical treatment for removing skin cancer is called ellipse excision. This procedure involves removing a boat-shaped section of skin that contains the cancer and then using sutures to bring the edges of the skin together.
02
Flap procedure
Flap surgery is a plastic surgery method that is utilised to treat skin cancers that cannot be treated with a simple ellipse. Flap surgery is performed when the wound is too large to be closed an ellipse, among other reasons.
03
Skin Graft
In the case a ellipse or flap is not achievable Dr Coleman may opt to do a skin graft by taking a thin sheet of skin another part of your body, known as the donor site, and use it to cover the area where the skin cancer was removed.
